If You Can't Answer This One Question ...

Here's a Film Courage video interview with the excellent Corey Mandell. Corey talks about how to drill down to the what your screenplay is REALLY about. Knowing what your script is about will enable you to see how and why it may appeal to certain audiences. Why is that important? Because you should only write feature screenplays that can find a place in the market - NOT the screenplays that you want to write. If you want to write those, don't be surpirsed if they don't get produced or if they do, they fail.

Corey goes around the houes to get to what he wants to say, but I think the circumnavigation is interesting, given who the man has worked with (a certain Ridley Scott. Who? Right). Enjoy.
