As you may know, I'm a professional feature film screenwriter and script consultant. I've written, rewritten, doctored or adapted well over 60 film and VOD scripts in every genre. And I've written notes on hundreds of screenplays for screenwriters, film producers, film directors, and film financiers.
I am also an experienced screenwriting teacher. You can therefore hire me to teach you screenwriting.

How it Works
My new screenwriting school syllabus runs along the following lines:
​We begin with a friendly, no strings, 10-15 minute call - video or otherwise. We talk about where you are with screenwriting - a new screenwriter, a screenwriter with a few screenplays under your belt, or a screenwriter with several credits on IMDb. In this way ...
...We get to know each other a bit. You either do or you don't feel I'm the real deal enough to invest in me. If you decide you want me to teach you screenwriting, we can begin the process of screenwriting tuition. Below is the way that will work and how much things will cost.​
Initial chat as above - FREE.
Secondary chat: a 1 hour on-boarding video or voice call: $200/£150. (Payable half upfront)
The 2nd video or voice call conversation will be more in depth. It will cover why you want to learn screenwriting or get better at it. If you already write film scripts but feel you can get better at it (which we ALL can), we can talk about what you feel your screenwriting shortcomings are. I tell you how I will fix them. We talk about the process of becoming or improving as a screenwriter. How do you see it? How do I see it? How can I help?
We talk about what are you prepared to do to become the best screenwriter you can be. And what can I do to enable you reach this goal. We talk about what it really means to ‘become a screenwriter’.
Does 'becoming a screenwriter' mean writing spec scripts to get better by practice? Does it mean screenwriting to make money by getting commissions via a screenwriter's agent, or from a producer?
In fact you have to do the first thing (write spec scripts) first and try hard to do the second thing second. To do the second thing you will have to get smart and make the right relationships. Develop a rep.
Because the film business functions on reputations and relationships.
In this 2nd conversation I am happy to hit you with tips and insights that will enable you to improve as a seasoned screenwriter or become a screenwriter from scratch. You'll get knowledge.
It's important to us both that you get value for money from this conversation.

Now I send you FIVE FREE screenplays - great examples of the craft of screenwriting from which we can all learn. You read these free screenplays and you make script notes. You try to find out what makes these scripts so good. Is their quality part of why the films they became were successful? You bet.
You send me the notes you made on these screenplays. We discuss them during the ...
....3rd video or voice call conversation: now, we talk about what made the screenplays you just read so darned good, and how you can apply what made those scripts so damn good to your own screenwriting. (call duration: 1 hour. cost: $200/£150 payable upfront).
In this 3rd call we can chat gerenally about screenwriting techniques, and anything else around screenwriting and the film business that I know enough about to talk about.
​So now?
You write your 1st screenplay under my tutelage and submit it to me for coverage (cost: $200).
We discuss the coverage with you in another video or voice, charged as above.
You write a 2nd draft based on the coverage I provide.
You submit your 2nd draft screenplay for coverage, charged as above.
I discuss the 2nd coverage with you in another video or voice call, charged as above.
You write another draft (if needed – it will be) that we discuss again.​
We can repeat this heuristic process as long as you want. But when you get smokin' good at screenwriting, I'll be sure to tell you. Then you can start teaching me.
I recommend that you get 3rd party script coverage of your screenplay for fresh eyes.
I don't expect you to rely on my coverage entirely for delivering the only POV possible of your screenplay. Different script readers tend to find different issues with screenplay.
They don't tend to suggest ways to fix those issues, however. That's where I come back in.
