So many storylines I come across need substantial development to reach their full potential - or the potential of the story concept. The story concept and the story itself must be compatible. Some story concepts best suit certain narratives - and genres.
I can help with things like this - and the narrative itself. Most stories, whether for scripts or fiction prose are nowhere near as good as they can be. Major changes can be effected that unleash powerful drama. Minor changes in the story and syntax are usually required to make the synopsis read well, and induce reader buy-in; essential if you are pitching your story.
I can help you to improve your story at the logline, synopsis or treatment stage. It may be the story of your film screenplay, your graphic novel, or your novel. Whatever the final form, the story needs to work and fulfil the potential of your dramatic concept.
Having written over 60 screenplays and written and ghost-written novels, I am well placed to develop stories – no matter their final form as film scripts or prose.
I was lucky to be exposed to good story telling - excellent books - the classic included - and hundreds of films - when young, and have had good teachers - Julian Friedman and Michael Hague among them.
I thereby developed exceptional dramatic instincts, both through learning the art of story, and writing stories.
